Loved doing this. I had help but managed in the end. I took it in after making it. Was a bit big. I was in-between sizes.
Yet again Tilly and her team have created a great pattern! Straightforward and beginner friendly with hints and tips too.
I positioned the pocket lower than advised. Just personal preference.
I have had quite a few compliments already.👍😊
Enjoyed making this dungaree dress. I used a cotton chambray fabric which was perhaps too light for the project, but handled beautifully. As I haven't got an interlocker, I went a size up so I could French seam the centre back and side seams. This made a very neat inside finish with all the raw edges concealed, In fact the re-size was not necessary as the final garment was generous anyway so I've ended up with a slightly larger dress. Not to worry though, I'm going to create two side channels and insert elastic either side. The buckles were easy to fit and it was satisfying to whack the no-sew buttons into place at the end of the project. I'm a size 20(UK), I will definately remake with a fine needlecord or light denim. Thoroughly recommend.
Thank you Jac, so pleased you enjoyed making your first Cleo. Team Buttons x
I haven’t sewn a woven garment for myself in decades. Just felt like something fun and casual. This fit the bill! I found this designer upholstery fabric on clearance for $5 a yard and it’s perfect! I sewed my straps on crooked but it won’t keep me from wearing around. LOL
Yay Lynn, so pleased you enjoyed your Cleo make. Team Buttons x
