GET INSPIRED #SewingMathilde
My third T&TB make and another hit as far as I'm concerned. It involved another new sewing skill for me (pleats) but I wasn't fazed by it as the clear instructions took me through step-by-step. I love how this blouse has 2 points of interest - the pleats on the front and the buttons on the back - and it is also really comfy to wear. I'm hunting down some white Dobby (textured) cotton fabric so I can make it again.
Thanks so much for your lovely review and sharing your pictures! We’re so happy to hear Mathilde was another hit for you, and that you enjoyed learning pleats along the way. White dobby cotton sounds dreamy… happy sewing! Abi x
Really happy with how this turned out. Had to size up, so glad I went with making a toile first. Good, clear, easy to follow instructions. First time doing pleats and proper sleeves!
Hi Michelle, thanks so much for your review! I'm glad you found the instructions easy to follow and that you decided to make a toile first. We always recommend this because the sizing chart is just a guide. Since everyone has a unique shape, some adjustments will be essential to achieve a custom fit. Especially around the shoulder, chest or waist areas, adjustments might be needed for the perfect fit. Many sewists find it helpful to sew a quick muslin first to see how the pattern works for them. We’re here to help if you have any questions or need tips for fitting! Happy sewing! Virginija x
I’m a relatively new sewer and loved this pattern, my 2nd of the Tilly and the buttons range.
The top has the wow factor, and really upped my skills with the French seams and gathering.
The instructions were clear, but I did have to re-read a few times and found the images a bit complicated for the actual pleats and a few stages be the Billy jumper. That said, I’m really happy with the outcome 😍
Already trying to decide on my next pattern..!
