I haven’t yet printed it out yet but I have read the instructions.
I think I will make my first one with cheaper fabric as I’ve never made a coat.
Hi Pam, thank you so much for your lovely review! :) It’s definitely a good idea to make a wearable toile first with cheaper fabric - I’m looking forward to seeing your final make when you’re ready! Happy sewing! Virginija x
I made the coat with zip and anorak poppers. Water resistant canvas outer, cotton inner. It's a comfortable roomy coat that goes on easily over anything and the hood is great if it starts to rain. I needed less fabric than recommended because I don't fold my fabric down the middle and lay all the pattern pieces out but cut it out piece by piece. The pattern was straightforward.
Hi Angela, thanks so much for your amazing review! It’s great to hear the pattern instructions were straightforward - yay! Happy sewing and enjoy wearing your new coat! Virginija x
I made the duffle version out of blue melton and it was my first proper coat. Lovely pattern, turned out really well. The instructions are excellent. The fit is just right. Highly recommend this one ☺️
I was keen to make an Eden coat for a while then I saw this William Morris waterproof fabric and decided to go for it. I already had the perfect lining fabric but decided to make my life extra difficult by interlining the bodice with fleece.
This was definitely an intermediate make. There were a lot of steps, some of which I really had to think about. I fell between the two pattern size ranges which made the pattern stage more difficult. And because the fabric is waterproof I couldn’t press it. However… all those things aside, I am thrilled with my coat and have hardly had it off my back!
I really wanted to make a raincoat and based on the great experience with other Tilly patterns I bought this.
Couple of lengths to choose from with option details such as storm flaps.
Made the longer one for dog walks and have a second one cut out to make in the jacket length.
Clear instructions as always and really accurate to sizes
