GET INSPIRED #SewingNoa
Loved this pattern when it was released. Instructions look very clear & love it the fact it’s printed on paper not tissue like mainstream patterns. Haven’t made it up yet but have some fine Albert Moon wool tweed fabric in mind for it. Will post pictures on instagram & tag Tilly & the buttons when completed. I have only made the sweatshirt before where fit is not so important but will definitely make a toile before cutting up the expensive fabric. Looking forward to this project in the new year.
Hi Rhian, thanks for sharing your feedback on the Noa pattern! Albert Moon wool sounds amazing - I’m looking forward to seeing your final result. :) Don’t forget to check our blog posts on sewing up Noa while you work on your toile in the new year. Happy sewing! Virginija x
Love these patterns. Super instructions and relevant information
I love how this turned out. I’m 5ft, I made the size 2, and made the mini version, round neck, and turned up the hem about 3 inches. If using a heavy fabric for the outside, I would make the facings in a different colour.
I would definitely recommend making this
Hey Philippa, thanks for such a lovely review! Your Noa is absolutely gorgoues - hope you enjoy wearing it! Happy sewing! Virginija x
Great pattern with clear instructions. I'm delighted to have made a pinafore which fits really well and feels very me. I made a version with a V neck and the waist adjuster in a cotton and Tencel twill blend, which has great drape. I should have lengthened it by 4cm so that it ends at the knee. I ended up making a faced hem, which worked fine. Thanks for a great pattern!
Hi Helen, thanks so much for your lovely review! I’m so pleased to hear you liked the pattern and found the instructions easy to follow. I hope you enjoy wearing your new pinafore - cotton & Tencel twill sounds super comfy! Happy sewing! Virginija x
I've made several TATB patterns and this one was just as easy to follow with clear instructions and plenty of help online. I am petite at 5ft 1in so shortened the bodice and cut a size 4. It came up quite large so I ended up bringing the side seams (skirt included) in my 2 inches each side. This improved the fit but my finished garment is still wide on the back shoulders, so next time I will cut a 3 and take some ease out of the back bodice. I'd definitely recommend adding the waist adjuster as that gave it a much better shape. Overall I was pleased with the finished dress. Good for an intermediate or confident beginner.
Hi Claire, thanks so much for your lovely review! I'm so glad to hear you found the instructions easy to follow and are already planning more Noas down the line, yay! :) Well done on perfecting the fit - we always recommend making a toile first so you don’t cut into your precious fabric.
