GET INSPIRED #SewingMarnie
I just love the look of Marnie. My first Marnie is a blouse in a lovely floral cotton lawn. Because of the busy floral pattern I decided to go with a plain front, without tucks and ruffles, but with tucks on the sleeves. I did no alterations to the pattern and made it up during a week. It was so easy to make and I love the result.
It is floaty, but the fit over the shoulders make it just perfect. As a petite person I sometimes feel I drown in these shapes, but I does not feel that I am in this garment. I am already planning to make the dress version with all the drama 😁
Yay Kristin, thank you for sharing pics of your Marnie make. The fabric looks so floaty. We're so pleased you like our latest pattern. Team Buttons x
Love this pattern! Instructions were easy to follow and the different options make it great to sew with different outcomes. I love it so much I am making some for my family!
Only down side was I got the pdf version as I wanted to sew it straight away so had to spend a lot of time printing and sticking.
So pleased you're happy with your Marnie make and if it helps all our PDF patterns come with the large format A0 file which can be uploaded to a number of online print services for printing. Team Buttons x
The things I love about the marnie are the neck frill and the sleeves, I've not done the tucks yet as I want to get a good fit first on my toile. The thing I don't like, and yes I know it's the style, is the amount of floatyness in the body, I own a rtw in the exact same style - the body being un gathered, and I think it looks much better, some help on making a version without the gathers would be helpful and might attract more people to buy it.
