Cleo Pinafore + Dungaree Dress

This is the first item of clothing I have made. I am a complete novice. I just took my time. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Making the full length version. Nearly finished them. Will probably make some more. I deem them to be a success! I expect I will purchase more of Tilly's patterns.

I bought this at the same time as Stevie before Christmas, but thought it might be hard. The instructions are so comprehensive and easy to follow, especially as there are photos too, or videos if you need. On top of that you can have a wee look on instagram to get inspiration. I loved how people had put patterned inserts inside the dress. An added bonus is when making a completely different top, I could use skills I’d learnt when making this. Also I wear it at least once a week.

I like this so much I have made it three times. Two times with 8 wale courdroy and once with a lovely canvas print. All three versions turned out great. I used dungaree buckles and added pockets to front and back. I made the knee length version but this last one I added a few inches. Had super fun making this and am really pleased with results.
