GET INSPIRED #SewingAgnes
I've been looking for more basics to add to me-made wardrobe, so I love how many variations there are on the Agnes - different sleeve and neckline options, and the potential to make this into a simple jersey dress too. I started with the ruched sleeve top with the scoop neckline, but I think I'll be making this again and again with all the various options (I think the ruched sleeves will remain my favourite though - love a dramatic sleeve to enhance a simple top!).
Just the words we love to read. Thank you for sharing your Agnes make. Team Buttons x
Love the Agnes top, the instructions were clear and I will make lots of them
Thank you sew much! x
I really enjoyed sewing this top. Very clear instructions. Such a versatile pattern. I look forward to making more in lots of different colours.
So lovely to read thank you Elaine x
Made my first Agnes, the instructions were very clear as always. Only issue was on the pdf pattern I bought they didn't have both markings to create the front gather but I don't think it would be difficult to estimate.
Will definitlely be making the other versions.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback on the Agnes top, so happy to read that you have plans for more.
With regards to the gather markings on the patterns we have included this information in the instruction booklet.
On the 'Cut Your Fabric' page in your instruction booklet.
'If you’re making the ruched sleeve, use dressmaker's carbon or a chalk pencil to mark a 20cm (8in) long elastic stitching line down the wrong side of each sleeve, starting from the small circle marked on the pattern and running vertically down the sleeve, parallel to the grainline arrow.
If you’re making the ruched neckline, mark the elastic stitching line on the wrong side of the front bodice the same way down the centre fold - 9cm (3½in) long for sizes 1-6, or 11.7cm (4⅝in) long for sizes 7-15.'
I hope this helps but you feel free to email me at hello@tillyandthebuttons.com for more help. Kate x
