GET INSPIRED #SewingNess
I've made this twice now - cold weather and warmer weather versions. It was a bit of a prolonged make (at least for me) but only because it involves having to use the overlocker and the sewing machine - and having to switch threads/needles/tensions etc between reuglar sewing and top stitching. The actual make was pretty straightforward. As always, the instructions were great, especially the zip fly insertion video. (The green version was made specifically to go with my Rosa shirt which I also love!)
Hi CC, thanks so much for your lovely review! So glad the instructions and zip fly video helped to complete it.
The Ness skirt is designed with improvers in mind, so it’s a bit more challenging - which is great for building skills. Now that you’ve made it a couple of times and feel more confident, you might enjoy trying some batch sewing, doing similar steps together rather than one by one - it can really speed things up. :) Your both shirts look gorgeous! Happy sewing! Virginija x
This was my lock down sew. Working from home I was always wearing a denim skirt, so decided to make my own. The clear instructions managed to guide my through a zip fly, which i never thought i could do. They were so clear that when I realised I had cut it out in reverse I didn't bother to scrap the pieces, and managed to reverse the fly. It would be nice in linen too. It's had some wear and is going strong.
I haven't made this yet. Sewing hiatus until the new year, but it looks to be a straight forward sew, and I'm looking forward to it.
Versatile pattern and nice challenge with the zip. Th utube video really helped with the zip insertion. Great buy for summer or winter makes .
A brilliant pattern, with straightforward instructions which produces a very satisfying make with great details. The instructions guide you through the fly zipper with ease, and the rest of the skirt is simple too. While making the skirt has more steps in it than other makes, it is so worth taking the extra time to topstitch for a professional look. Highly guaranteed to everyone (I’ve made 2 (one blue denim, one navy corduroy) and another one cut ready to go!)
Yes to Ness! Thank you so much Fi. Team Buttons x
