Tilly and the Buttons

This was my first ‘confident beginner’ pattern which I was slightly apprehensive about. However the instructions were really clear and easy to follow and I had no trouble at all putting it together. I just need to pick more fabric for the next one.

I quickly made 2 pair, to match 2 robes I made!

Really simple pattern to use. I’ve made three already and I wear them loads.

Nice to have an alternative to the sleeve that came with the Rosa pattern - saved me from having to work out how to put cuffs on by myself! My Rosa is definitely a 'cold weather' shirt so I wanted sleeves that would cover the full length of my arms and do up around the wrist. It all worked well. (photos on the Rosa page!)

I’m a late starter to dressmaking having sewn bags, purses etc in the recent past. I took the plunge after recommendations and it was an easy pattern to follow with excellent instructions and photographs in the accompanying booklet. Im so pleased with my first ever attempt and my pyjama bottoms turned out great. The sizing is spot on. I’ll certainly be using patterns from TATB again and recommending them to others. A proper paper pattern, not the tissue type.

I loved sewing this set. my only small issue was that I couldn’t really tell in the photos that the shorts in this pattern are a bit high waisted, but it was super easy to tweak the pattern pieces for the low waisted fit that I wanted. The instructions are so clear with lots of photos, I’m so excited to sew more of these!

I have only used the pattern to make a skirt and I was really happy with the result. Easy instructions and the skirt fits true to size and is very flattering. I will definately be making more versions.

I wish I had got this when I bought my janome overlocker- I considered it but didn’t- it sorts out all the problems about threading, tension and gives tips I haven’t seen elsewhere. The demonstrations are so clear and I can keep going back to bits of it. Really worth it.

I loved making this dress! It was a little long for me but soon sorted that out! I’ve made it for my son’s wedding this month and can’t wait to wear it. Excellent pattern.

Clear verbal and visual explanations throughout. Well paced. Lots of great hints and tips. Appreciated the tech support when the pattern layers wouldn’t initially load

I absolutely love this pattern especially with the video tutorial.
It’s my first time making swimwear and I’ve successfully made a swimsuit and bikini top.
I can’t wait to make more.

I was a bit daunted by this pattern as it seemed more complicated than any other shirt I've made before by virtue of the princess seams, the yoke and the top stiching. However the instructions were great and it is wasn't that tricky after all - it just involves lots of pattern pieces! (I was very careful to label everything carefully with stickers so as not to confuse myself, especially the collar pieces that were cut in different directions.)
My fabric is so busy you can't really see the top stitching but the mock felled seams were a new skill for me to master, which was a bonus. I was lucky that the shape of it fits me without having to make any real adjustments - I just graded size 3 at the top into size 4 at the bottom to give me a little more room over the bum.
I used the free cuffed sleeve option (that can be found on the website) instead of the one that comes with the pattern as I wanted to make it more of a cold weather shirt (it is made of corduroy) and I couldn't see myself rolling the sleeves up and using the button tab.
Now I have this pattern I can definitely see myself having another go in a different fabric.

As always, Tilly has created a wonderful pattern. It’s easy to understand directions are something I truly appreciate.

The Bobbi Pinafore and Skirt is a great sewing pattern.
The skirt is shaped in a very comfortable and flattering way, not too fitted, not too loose.
Also, this pattern does not require much fabric, as it's sewn from many small panels/pieces, even the pinafore dress.
This does take some time, of course, but it's worth it!

Absolutely loved this course. Great to be able to come back to it time after time. So easy to follow. Never made anything remotely stretchy before and only just bought an overlocker so all pretty new. Decided to make the Drew cropped entirely with my overlocker. Took a very deep breath and went for it!! OMG how easy!! Gave myself the day to make the sweatshirt up, took about an hour max and beyond chuffed with the results!!
