GET INSPIRED #SewingLyra
I'm fairly new to dressmaking and have only been sewing since January. I've been working my way through TATB patterns and found this one to be a nice stretch challenge for me with some new skills to try (button placket, collar).
As always, the instructions and pics guide you through it every step of the way and I had no issues.
I made a floaty viscose midi but hope to make a knee length corduroy one next to wear with tights.
Hi Gemma, thanks so much for your review! I’m so happy to hear you’re building your skills with our patterns - yay! I hope you enjoy making the corduroy version soon - I can’t wait to see it! Happy sewing! Virginija x
I have made 4 Lyras so far and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. A great pattern that goes together easily. Even though I already have a few of these they all look different - different length, different fabric etc I do a 1 inch FBA for my DD cup and that is the only adjustment I make. Really a timeless pattern that you will use time and time again.
Fantastic pattern and videos to master fab details - be prepared for lots of compliments : my favourite was “ it looks like xxxxx xxxxx but seems to fit you better 💕💕
I’ve made 7! So far!
This is a great dress. I made it in a midi length for my daughter in a size 2 - perfect except for the sleeves, which needed to be enlarged. I also made them short and added a hem facing and vent
Took my time to make the collar as this was a first for me but followed the instructions and it came out great. I didn’t make the skirt as full as this was more flattering for my shape. I am really pleased with my Lyra and have plans to make another one. It is lovely to wear and I received some lovely compliments about it
