Cute, comfy and effortlessly stylish, the Indigo smock has no fiddly fastenings so you can throw it on and go. Sew it with classic gathered seams or elevate it to a stand-out piece in your wardrobe with the pretty exposed frill seam.

Indigo has a bodice shaped with bust darts, gently curved empire waistline, and floaty gathered skirt. Make it as a top with dipped hem ending at the low hip, or a knee-length dress with straight hem and pockets (yay!). Choose from three-quarter flounce sleeves or slim-fitting bracelet sleeves. You’ll want to wear one every day of the week.

Lovely pattern

I am a novice sewist, with this being one of my first garments made. The instructions are very clear and include photos making them very easy to follow (even for a beginner). There are numerous Tilly and the Buttons videos online offering extra guidance if needed. The dress itself is a lovely shape and very comfortable to wear. Great Pattern & Instructions

The first TATB pattern I've used. What a breath of fresh air, beautifully presented, good quality paper pattern, so easy to trace from and return to the envelope as it came out. Equally, the instructions were well presented and the links to some of the techniques helpful to reinforce my understanding. Not only is the finished product the first I've completed that fits well and I'm happy with but I've already cut out another one ready to go!

Fantastic outcome

As a beginner I thought that there were a lot of steps but they seemed clear and I managed quite well.

The only part I struggled with was doing the frill seam - but will try again.

Great pattern/Easy to follow

This was my first ‘confident beginner’ pattern which I was slightly apprehensive about. However the instructions were really clear and easy to follow and I had no trouble at all putting it together. I just need to pick more fabric for the next one.

Gorgeous, versatile and beginner friendly!
