GET INSPIRED #SewingLyra
I have made a few of these now in different fabrics. Absolutely love this pattern. Will make this time and time again.
Wow Fiona, you have been busy. Love all of these thank you so much for sharing. Team Buttons x
A lovely pattern. I have made one Lyra dress. I am working on another one now. The instructions were doable. I did have to read them numerous times before I comprehended the collar construction. The instructions seem to be geared towards an experienced sewer. The dress is intended to have a good bit of ease but I love how it fits and flows.
Thank you Sara, please check out our blog for extra pattern support.
Overall this dress was lovely to make, however, I did have a bit of an issue with the collar, picture instructions could have been a bit more detailed showing exactly which bits to put where.
Thanks for sharing Fiona, we have additional resources on our website to help with trickier aspects of the pattern which we hope our customers will find useful. https://www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2021/04/ten-tips-for-sewing-neat-shirt-collar.html
Haven't actually made this dress yet. Still reading blogs from other people as want to get size fright. But like Tilly's instructions one of the best.
Happy Stitching Cheryl and please share pics of your finished Lyra #sewinglyra
I had a fabric in my stash for years that was perfect for a new summery shirtdress and I thought Lyra would be a perfect match so I bought the pattern, printed it out and sewed the dress immediately. The best shirt collar I ever tried my hands on thanks to the wonderful instruction. I love my new dress and already planned my next lyra :-)
Yay, thank you Katja and yay to making a wardrobe full of Lyra's x
