                  Inspiring and fun!

Helped my 12-year-old niece sew up the Drew Sweatshirt over the Christmas holidays. Her first TATB pattern and size 0 fitted her perfectly (she was so happy to finally fit into one of my TATB patterns!) This was a great beginner pattern for my niece; she sewed all the seams (apart from the neck and cuffs which I did) on a regular sewing machine. We loved designing the colour-block together which made this sweatshirt more inspiring and fun! We initially thought there was a band of fabric across the shoulder for a pop of colour, but in fact this is the back shoulder piece showing on the product photos. The instructions were easy to follow and extremely well-described with colour photos for each step. The raglan sleeves were easy for my niece to sew and were a welcome change from set-in-sleeves. The only trouble we encountered was getting the correct size for the neckline and bottom body band, but this was because we wanted to use the same fabric as the arm bands which wasn't very stretchy (the pattern recommends ribbing which is much more stretchy). We made the neckband longer and my niece kept trying it on over her head and sewing it shorter each time before I attached it to the body. Would thoroughly recommend this pattern; both my niece and I agree!

Hi Lianne, thank you so much for your wonderful review! I absolutely love hearing about your niece’s first TATB pattern – how exciting! I’m so glad the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The raglan sleeves are definitely a great choice for beginners, and it’s amazing how you adjusted the neckband so thoughtfully with her trying it on – what a great team effort! Thank you for sharing your experience, and happy sewing to both of you! Virginija x

                  Fabulous versatile pattern :)

So far I’ve just made one Drew, but I have at least 10 other potential projects swirling round my head! I made this. with a scrap of fun ‘DND’ style fleece together with bright colour blocking, for a friend who I go to a games club with. I love how you can add as little or as much colour as you like, depending on what pieces you cut. I now need to make myself a matching one!

Hi Kerry, thank you so much for your lovely review! 😊 I’m so happy to hear you’re loving the versatility of the Drew pattern! I’m sure your matching one will be just as fabulous. Happy sewing, and enjoy making all those future projects! Virginija x

                  Great wee pattern

First time making a stretch item/sweatshirt and this pattern was pretty simple. My sister has already requested one!
Instructions simple. Would have been handy to have a video tutorial but the instructions do the job.
                  Thanks

Hi Claire, thank you so much for your lovely review! 😊 I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed making your first stretch item and that it was nice and simple to follow! There’s a pre-recorded online workshop available with this pattern if you prefer a video format, and how exciting that your sister already wants one too – you’re on a roll! Happy sewing! Virginija x

                  Fallen in Love

Billie used to be my favourite pattern, but I have now ditched her and am completely in love with Drew.
This sweatshirt is a dream to make, it goes together easily and there is just so much scope for personalising it. I have already made three and am about to start on my fourth. The instructions are, as always, so clear and simple to follow. I also really appreciate the extra information Tilly has provised (in a blog I think) such as how to lower the neckband, which I did.
I can't stress enough just what a great pattern this is. Love it!

PS sorry that there are no photos, all my Drews have been "borrowed" by my daughters, will have to make sure the next one I make is mine :)

Hi Sara, thank you so much for your lovely review! I'm so happy to hear you're in love with Drew. :) No worries about the photos - sounds like your daughters are loving their Drews! Can't wait to see the photo of your next Drew. Happy sewing! Virginija x
