love the shape and versatility of this pattern. I made the long ruche-sleeve version in a fun spacey print that was probably meant for toddler's pajamas. I had a massive overlocker fail (i am a newbie and managed to chew a huge hole in the top of the back bodice when I was sewing the sleeve in) but I did a nice visible mend and have worn the top non-stop ever since. The instructions are really clear and love that there are photos, which I can blow up on my phone screen to really see whats going on.
I plan to make this again and again - prints and plain - there is even a simple dress hack!
It would also be a fun one to make as a mini-me for me and the kid, if I could figure out how to scale it down for girl's size.
I must admit I have not made the Agnes top yet, due to the fact that I have been busy making the Frankie T shirt and two Freya sweaters! I was gifted at Christmas with the “ Stretch “ book which they came from. I also have the “ Make it simple “ book and have made the Saify’s trousers , twice! So I have been busy! I have a few TATB patterns now in my collection , I love all things Tilly, the patterns are so easy to follow, the paper pattern paper is good quality, so much better than tissue paper ones. Only one criticism , that is the photos showing you the sewing steps can but hard to follow when the fabric is the same colour and the no difference in right or wrong side.
I bought this pattern years ago and used it so often, but re-ordered it again as I expanded over the last few years! This is my ‘go to’ tee shirt pattern as is so flattering
I've been looking for more basics to add to me-made wardrobe, so I love how many variations there are on the Agnes - different sleeve and neckline options, and the potential to make this into a simple jersey dress too. I started with the ruched sleeve top with the scoop neckline, but I think I'll be making this again and again with all the various options (I think the ruched sleeves will remain my favourite though - love a dramatic sleeve to enhance a simple top!).
Just the words we love to read. Thank you for sharing your Agnes make. Team Buttons x
