GET INSPIRED #SewingMarnie
Loved making this Marnie blouse! It was my first T&B’s pattern and after deliberating which elements to combine I found the instructions and YouTube tutorial really easy to follow.
The Instagram post about decorative stitches nudged me to try my scallop stitch although I wasn’t brave or patient enough to snip around each curve. It looks pretty though.
I chose a super soft cotton lawn to make a floaty summer version omitting the long sleeves (I just narrow hemmed the upper sleeve pieces).
My favourite part is the undulating tucks which are really satisfying to sew. Version 2 is already pinned and waiting to be cut out!
Highly recommend for a confident beginner. Happy Sewing!

Fantastic pattern. Such a pretty dress and really clear instructions. I have made 2 dresses so far, not bad to say I've had the pattern about a week.
Thank you Sarah, we really appreciated your lovely words. Team Buttons x
Great value for money with the cost of living. Purchased the pdf so can alter the sizes and styles . Pleats a bit tricky to draw out and iron but will have another go
Yay! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. Team Buttons x
I just love the look of Marnie. My first Marnie is a blouse in a lovely floral cotton lawn. Because of the busy floral pattern I decided to go with a plain front, without tucks and ruffles, but with tucks on the sleeves. I did no alterations to the pattern and made it up during a week. It was so easy to make and I love the result.
It is floaty, but the fit over the shoulders make it just perfect. As a petite person I sometimes feel I drown in these shapes, but I does not feel that I am in this garment. I am already planning to make the dress version with all the drama 😁
Yay Kristin, thank you for sharing pics of your Marnie make. The fabric looks so floaty. We're so pleased you like our latest pattern. Team Buttons x
